The Amazon Shanenawa Expedition begins in Rio Branco, in the state of Acre. The state borders Bolivia and Peru, covers 164,000 km², and its time zone is 2 hours behind Brasília. Throughout the itinerary, we will venture into the largest tropical rainforest on the planet, where biodiversity and the diversity of Indigenous peoples are expressed with such strength and beauty. Day 1 | Rio Branco

We will arrive at Rio Branco Airport and, from 2:00 p.m. onwards, check in at the hotel in Rio Branco. On the first day, the city of Rio Branco reveals itself as a place rich in culture and history, with a variety of options to explore. In the evening, we can discover the local cuisine at one of the city’s restaurants.

Day 2 | Rio Branco - Aldeia Shanenawa

In the morning, we will set off towards the Shanenawa Village. The journey is long, but the road through the rainforest already prepares the spirit for what lies ahead. Upon arrival, the community’s warm welcome will mark the beginning of a deep and meaningful experience. Dinner will be served in the village and, at night, music and a campfire await us beneath the star-filled Amazonian sky.

Day 3 | Aldeia Shanenawa

After breakfast, we will visit a handicraft exhibition and enjoy a refreshing swim in the pond. In the afternoon, we will experience traditional body painting and learn about the uses of forest medicines during a community conversation. In the evening, for those who feel called to participate, a ceremony with sacred medicine will be held (optional).

Day 4 | Aldeia Shanenawa

This day is dedicated to relaxation. The surrounding nature, ponds, and the slow-paced rhythm of village life create the ideal setting for moments of introspection or sharing with the group. We will also enjoy a medicinal herbal bath, followed by dinner and a peaceful evening.

Day 5 | Aldeia Shanenawa

Early in the morning, we will set out on a gentle hike, with a visit to the imposing Samaúma tree and the Cumaru trees. After lunch, we will experience the evaporation of herbs, an ancestral practice of connection and healing. The day will end with dinner and storytelling around the campfire.

Day 6 | Aldeia Shanenawa

After breakfast in the village, the day will be dedicated to handicraft exhibitions and Indigenous games. After watching the sunset, you will immerse yourself even further in Shanenawa culture. Dinner will be a celebration, and the evening will come alive with a campfire and music, a circle of gratitude, and final messages of deep connection.

Day 7 | Aldeia Shanenawa - Rio Branco

After breakfast, we will plant seedlings, contributing to the preservation of the rainforest. In the afternoon, our group will depart for Rio Branco, with lunch along the way, in the Purus River area. We will spend one night in Rio Branco, and our arrival in the capital in the late afternoon or early evening will mark our return to reality, but the treasures of the Amazon will continue to resonate in our souls.
